CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program consisting mainly of a mix of aerobic exercise, callisthenics and Olympic weightlifting. CrossFit Inc. describes its strength and conditioning program as "constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity across broad time and modal domains”.

BEFORE TRAINING

CROSS FIT CLASSES

At GB Cross Fit Brisbane, we run three different class types over the course of the week.

The majority of these are of course CrossFit which includes a wide variety of aerobic exercises, weightlifting and callisthenics. From Box jumps and wall balls to handstands and kettlebells, each workout is perfectly balanced, constantly varied and guaranteed to work up a sweat.

We also offer a mobility class once a week. Most of us know we should probably take more time to stretch properly, but unfortunately, it is an element that is quite often overlooked. What is not commonly known is that improved flexibility can have enormously positive effects across many areas of our lives. From improving your fitness and abilty to decreasing your likelihood of injury and relieving some of those aches and pains, our mobility class will add an extra, and very much required, level to your training.

Last but not least we also run an Olympic weightlifting class weekly which is an excellent opportunity to practice and perfect your form, increase your 1RM and receive support, encouragement and pointers from the instructor and your fellow lifters.

Increased flexibility can help improve all manner of physical skills, from squats to sprints and everything in between. It can also help significantly decrease your risk of injury and help relieve those common aches and pains after exercise.

OLYMPIC LIFTING

Olympic weightlifting improves a lot more than just strength...

The clean, jerk and snatch are powerful exercises, and they are a great tool for developing explosive strength in athletes. Compared to other strength and power based exercises such as deadlifts and back squats they produce tremendous levels of power and force.

TIMETABLE

With classes running across six days of the week from dawn to dusk, there’s sure to be a time that fits everyone, regardless of how busy their schedules.

For the early birds there are classes at 5 am Monday, then there’s the 6 am class five days a week, including Saturday mornings so there’s no excuse even on the weekend, a 9 am class for those that may not have time until after the school run and of course evening classes throughout the week too.

So, come once, twice, three times or more and enjoy the flexibility that’s on offer.

We like to think of ourselves as the “Goldilocks Box”. Not too big or too small but just right!

We believe we have found the perfect bridge between the super-size and the very small Boxes. We are not so big that you get lost or miss out on the ever-watchful eye of our highly trained instructors and yet not so small that you have to train in a cramped, sweaty space.

This perfect balance between big and small combined with our carefully capped class sizes also promotes the great sense of community that we are known for.

Kristy K-Fed Feddersen

K-Fed has been training CrossFit for over 6 years and has dedicated her life to becoming the best possible athlete everyday since.

K-Fed entered her first competition without being able to do the majority of the core CrossFit movements or RXD weights and won, this lit the fire. She has been driven to improve since that first taste of competition hoping to inspire others always striving to give her best to the wider CrossFit community.

Olympic lifting and gymnastic movements are her specialty along with strongman, Powerlifting and just lifting anything heavy in general.
